Do you have students who are so focused upon their devices that you know they are clueless to what’s happening around them? You know those kids who are so engaged in their screens that near them a bomb could go off, a fire could start or a humpback whale could surface and they’d completely miss it.

“The whales were breaching off Redondo and this small sailboat maneuvered into the spot where the spout occurred. I was roughly 50 feet from the whale and her calf when they resurfaced next to the sailboat. The guy never looked up from his phone throughout the entire breach,” Smith told Eyewitness News.
