It’s Juneteenth today. Here’s a new video, with numerous original sources, which I found quite moving:
I’ll be honest with you. This is a holiday which I’ve not thought about much before this year.
I’ll likely reflect more here sometime about the learning and repenting that I’m seeking to do regarding the white privilege I’ve unquestioningly used to my advantage. More on this to come…
For right now:
Here’s the excellent sources that I feature each day – The Week and the Five Things to Know Today
Good News Network site and the Daily “Good News in History”
Creighton U. Daily Reflections
National Catholic Reporter – Copy Desk Daily, June 19, 2020
Thinking of faith, here’s this week’s World in Prayer offering.
The Daily 202 Big Idea Podcast took the day off to celebrate the holiday.
In its place, I recommend the NY Times “The Daily” on The History and Meaning of Juneteenth
